The key aim of the Walsall Supporters' Trust

To strengthen the bonds between Walsall Football Club and the local community in Walsall and the surrounding area and to represent the interests of the local community in the running of Walsall Football Club.

The WST will seek to gain an interest in any company or society whose aims are consistent with that noted above. In particular, the WST will look to acquire an interest in Walsall Football Club Limited, or any successor company.

The long-term objective of the WST is to have a democratically-elected fans' representative elected to the Board of Directors of Walsall Football Club with an equal voting right to the other board members. This has already happened at Luton Town and Northampton Town. It is vital that this representative is elected by the members of the WST, i.e. the supporters of Walsall FC, and that s/he should be accountable to them.

With this in mind it is crucial that the WST works with all of the fans and those with a stake in the future of the club in order to gain as large a body of support as possible. The WST is looking to change the culture of the club, by promoting dialogue and openness.

The Trust will seek to enter into a partnership with local politicians of all parties, the players, staff and directors of WFC, and the official and independent supporters' associations. This will entail the full, accountable, democratic and constructive involvement of the supporters in the running and direction of the club. See our list of supporters.

The only way that our interests will be best served is through an effective and democratic body which works to gain a shareholding for all its members and a seat on the board which carries a voting right. It must also guarantee the right to constructively question what the Board is doing, and the short, medium and long-term plans for Walsall FC. Without this guarantee nothing, from investment made on the playing side, to ticketing issues and the club's involvement in the community, will be fully addressed with us.
